Palestinians hold funeral for man martyred during Gaza protest

A funeral has been held for a Palestinian man martyred during a protest at the fence separating the Gaza Strip from the Israeli-occupied territories. According to reports, the body of 23-year-old Tamer Arafat was carried through the streets of Khan Younis in southern Gaza. Israeli troops shot and killed Taamer after they opened fire on Palestinian protesters rallying near the fence. Gaza health authorities say more than 250 people have been martyred since Palestinians launched weekly protests on March 30 last year.

Ethiopia’s Boeing 737 crashes, killing all 157 people aboard

An Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 passenger jet to Nairobi crashed early on Sunday with 149 passengers and eight crew members aboard, the airline said, and there were no survivors, according to the state broadcaster.
